Folks,
I got Service Engine light on. Error code pointed to Exaust camshaft sensor
Did anyone replaced Exaust camshaft sensor? Where did you get the part?
If I run www search all I can find is Oxigen sensor. Is that the same thing?
Oxygen Sensor
C5010-96291

Appreciate your help.

No, Oxigen sensors (two now) sit before and after the cats. Camshaft sensor is different. What's you model?

Your dealer should have a correct part. And if you are still on warranty, it's covered too.

thanks. at least 1 thing got clear for me.
I have 2000, 328i.
If only I my car was under warranty :) :)

Actually, I got a part number 12-14-1-438-082 (pulse generator).
Look I am going to get it from dealer. No luck to find it online.
Just 2 links to a Russian site w/ inventory listing. :)

[rofl] [rofl] I bet they can send you the "right" part. [fake] [fake]

It shouldn't be too hard to install the sensor. [thumb]
