I own a 2001 330 Ci, round 46K on it now and the service warrantee is about to expire. I was wondering what you all recommend to extend coverage? I already contacted my stealership and they were talking round 3K for a bumper to bumper, there must be better options out there.

How long is the new warranty for 3k? Sounds high to me . Members here have said that you can negotiate prices with them ,or your other nearest dealer. Also check you're maintenance requirements coming up within the new warranty . Will 3K be worth a couple of oil changes and brake flush?
I would take a good look around your vehicle. Is it pretty sound and well upkept. Maybe you don't need a bumper to bumper but rather a maitenance warranty ..

No this car has been in a accident and requires a lot of service. My maintenance plan has already expired, I can deal with the cost of that. it’s the bigger stuff that worries me. The 3k was for either a 3 or 4 year extension, can’t remember offhand with all the crap he was pitching. Looking for someone who has had good luck going through a 3rd party.

Stay away from the AAA policy, it's a piece of junk and they will do everything they can do not to pay out on it. Very bad experience with that and a busted water pump a few years ago.

It was more of a hassle then a financial loss, unless you count what the policy cost too.

Good idea Johnnyz16, there are about 4 dealers in the ATL area will look into that on Monday. However I feel there has just got to be a better way then going through a dealership.

I have an extended warranty through warrantybynet.com, which covered an additional 6 years and 100K miles. Was under 2 grand for the policy. I have already used the policy on a repair that cost over 2K, no problems. I ended up paying $100 deductible as well as $50 for a part that was only covered up to $650 (part was $700).

best of luck,
