Exterior mirror package

I own a 2003 330i and the side mirros fold by pressing that button near the door... i just wanted to ask if there is any way to change the package to make the mirrors fold up like the ci version?

I have a 03 330CI and I don't see any button to fold the side mirror..am I missing something?? please help, thanks

What you may be missing, Dumayou, is that Black330 lives in the Middle East!!!!! Probably a package we are not offered. None of us in the US or Canada have power folding mirrors. BMW knows that is a feature most of us don't need I presume.

Yeah, I think it's a feature the other parts of the world get. I remember when I visited Taiwan, pretty much all the cars have folding mirrors. The nicer ones have power folding ones. Even my Civic had different mirrors there than the my American one. Their's folded, mine didn't.

People have tried, but I haven't heard of anyone successfully retrofitting it to the US/Canada versions.

The European e46 side mirrors do fold up and they're powered. All you need to do is locate the part numbers for the complete mirrors and the button, (to my understanding). Then you switch out the guts of the new non-painted mirror housings to your factory painted housings and complete the wiring connections.

As I stated above, I have heard that this works, but I have not personally attempted it, yet!

As far as manual folding goes, I have tried to fold mine up as well. They didn't readily move so I stopped applying pressure.

Although they look like they're hinged don't they?

It says in the brochure that they fold up (up being 90 degrees toward the sky, assuming your wheels are on the ground!!).

The more I think about it the more I wish I had the power folding feature. It would come in real handy in my garage as my wife and kids aren't nearly as careful as I am.
