First Aid Kit?

I got my car on Euro Delivery and thus it had a first aid kit. There is an attached box under the passenger seat to keep it in. Do the built and sold in the US models have this built in box?

Nope...they take them out prior to delivery.

So what is in the first aid kit? There must be some liability issue with having it in the cars here, why else would they remove them???

Perishables in the kit. US owners are prone to ignore the kit totally, and not replace the perishable items when they need to (usually after it's out of warranty). What the perishables 'are', well I'd have to see in one to take a guess. Propably ointment, or burn treatment stuff that isn't good/safe to use after X number of years.

My kit innards are in the basement awaiting the car, I could give you a full accounting later. But they really remove the attached plastic box too? Seems kinda dumb as you could buy your own kit an keep it in there.

There's also scissors in the kit, so it ends up in packed luggage.

After doing Euro Delivery, mine had the box installed. And yes, the scissors will be picked up in the Munich airport xray. I didn't know, found out the hard way!

Where can I buy first aid box?

Although the first aid kit isn't in US cars, the box serves a very useful purpose for maps, etc. I bought one, with the mounting bracket last month through my dealer, and when I went back for another (for the passenger seat) I was told they were unavailable!!

Does anyone know how I might order one from Europe?

this reminds me, i better check the stuff in the 740iL to make sure non of that stuff has expired yet
