[thumb] BMW Rocks, I know if does and for five years i've only had to drive, change oil and get my scheduled maintenance completed. Well the other day the unthinkable happened, yes it happened to me... The rear window regulator decided to freakin flip out. Rain in the forecast and my passenger side rear window disappears into the freakin frame. Well $333.50 later and I'm back to being happy with my Bimmer experience. It took Five years and 136,000 miles to get to my first bad experience. The part was only $80.00, it was the pain of labor that I had to suffer through, no pun intended to the fairer sex. I only hope that I can go another 136,000 miles and five years before I get my next inconvenience. Happy Motoring [driving2]

Yeah, I really think there should be a class action on the design of the window regulators and sunshade clip. Many fail FAR earlier than 100,000+ miles.

Hey zchild!

That is so amazing.....100,000+ miles and 5 years old, and you had your first non-maintenance dealer visit. That is just so cool, and considering my BMW experience so unbelieveable...I had to say congrats!

I wish you could inject some of your car's DNA into mine. Maybe I could drive it to the beach, or cruise Sunset Blvd, instead of driving to the service Dept. 2004 330cic, about 1,000 miles on the odometer....and approaching 9 service visits...ALL for non-maintnenance.

Your car def rocks!!!

[thumb] Yeah, dudes and dudettes, I bought the car in Europe in June of 1999 brand spanking new while serving in the United States Military. It's my other passion, driving that is... I love to drive sometimes too fast, about six speeding tickets since I bought my Bimmer. I drive on every business trip possible sometimes coast to coast. My plan is to drive for a million miles... Thats crazy. I dont put the miles on my car because I want to keep it a long time and people be impressed my M3 has low milage for the year it is. Doesnt mean I dont drive it everywhere! How can you NOT drive a BMW when you own one.

Way to go, Zchild! I'm on my way to catching ya -- mine is a 2004 (took delivery in March) and I've already got well over 10,000 miles on it. I love driving this car. I've had a lot of people tell me I'd be sorry come "trade-in-time" but I say to hell with them. I'm BUYING the car, not leasing it, and I'm BUYING the car because I like the way it drives. I'd rather blow through my warranty early and take my chances as it ages, comfortable in the knowledge that I'm totally enjoying the car at every opportunity. This is a better existence than denying myself the joy of driving it as often as I like or as far as I'd like just for the sake of resale. This car isn't an investment for me in dollars... it's an investment in my soul, and it's paying off in huge dividends. I love this car.

Dude that is way to funny,
I have a 2001 330 Ci just broke 50 K on it and have had the the auxiliary fan replace twice, 2 seat belt wiring harnesses, the HK subs replaced, broke a compensation spring (AKA new transmission) The door molding still falls down every summer and every once in a while the drivers side door hadle just decides not to work, just never at the dealer. We won’t even get into the worlds largest amount of brake dust I have ever seen a car produce, on a gorgeous rim that by the way has what seems to have more nooks and crannies then a English muffin. But all that fades away at 120+ MPH, or when your throwing your buddy around the back seat cornering wildly when he refuses to wear a seat belt
