Usually you will pick up a few at the high rpm range, and little if any at the bottom end. In around town driving you may actually lose a little do to the underhood temp. On the highway you will gain do to greater air movement resulting in a lower air temp under the hood. A chip will give you 12 hp @5000 rpm and a 16 ft lb torque increase a little lower down the rpm range. The 1.8L 16v is a very peaky engine and likes its rpms kept up. The Conforti chip from Turner Motorsport is priced at $199. The combination could be a good mix depending on where you drive.
