Anyone ever had a problem with their gas tank cover not opening? My check engine light came on and in the past this sometimes was resolved by simply opening and closing the gas tank cover. Today the cover won't open. I guess I will bring it in this weekend, but thought someone might know of an easy fix.

Is there another way to open the gas tank cover besides just pushing it? Is there a latch in the car somewhere?

Thanks.

Forgive me if you have thought of this, but if I lock and unlock the car through the key remote, it clears it up every time.

The gas door does have an electric lock mechanism. You can manually unlock it from inside the trunk. Look closely inside the trunk on the right side. You should see a small round button that you can pull out. It's attached to a plastic cord that will actuate the lock. The cord will not retract, you just need to push it back in.

But, as Na Na said above, I would try locking and unlocking the car a few times to see if that clears up the problem.

In my car, the button is green in color and is stamped in white with the word: gas.

Good luck.
