Gas Mileage for 325i Euro Spec?

Hi there. I just wanted to ask some questions about Gas consumption as it seems to be unusually high on my late 03 325i. Most of my driving is around town but I do go for an occasional blast down the motorway and I am seeing an average mpg figure at the moment of about 15.5.

This seems rather low to me even allowing for the fact that I drive in Sport mode most of the time with a heavy right foot.

Any feedback?

That does seem kinda low, i get well not much better 17 mpg but thats with my heavy foot and in an e36 m3 so who knows

I've gotten 16-17 with city driving. No sport mode and I try and granny it whenever I think about it. So, your 15.5 is not far off my mark.

I'm getting 24.2 mpg, but that's primarily freeway driving, averaging 37mph.

Thanks, seems pretty normal then I guess. It does creep up pretty quckly whenever I head for the motorway but that happens so rarely my average is way down.

Yes, any highway driving will shoot the mileage up. I wish it weren't so dramatic, but it is. I got 29mpg from pure highway driving one time. That's a swing of over 13 mpg btw city and highway. That's just insane.

Given that I only drive at the w/e it doen't really matter and I am sure that it i mostly down to the fact that when i do drive I have too much fun planting the throttle all the time.

My 330ci Sport returns 30 mpg thats combined town and highway mileage. I would have thought a 325 should return at least what i'm getting from mine.

I would have thought so too but given that the car seems to be perfect in every way I can only put it down to stop start town driving at the moment. I'm goign to be on the motorway a fair bit over Christmas so I will hope to see it improve significantly. Otherwise I may ask the garage to take a look.
