I used to be a Service advisor for a GM product (no longer available - Oldsmobile), and I remember learning in one of the classes that chevron gas was not available in Michigan, so they actually had it trucked up from Alabama for testing, development, ect.
I'm now the Asst Service Manager at an automotive shop, and most of the time a customer has a fuel related issue (pump, injector, ect) it can usually be attributed to one or more of the following: either lack of maintanence [not changing fuel filter at regular intervals], and/or they usually "shopped" for gasoline to find the best bargain.
It is always nice to have the piece of mind that you saved nearly .20 - .30 cents a tank, even though you just had to have your fuel pump changed for $800 - $1200, or injectors for possibly even more!!!
Toss the extra .25 cents in your tank and get the chevron (you don't have to spring for the higher octane unless your car requires it - otherwise it probably won't do any good!!)
