Gauges broken

hey, all my gauges except the speedometer (gas, RPMs, MPG, temp) stopped working all at the same time one day while i was driving. when i first start up the car the RPM gauge will work for a couple seconds and so will the MPG gauge, but then they just die. ne one know what could be causing that and how i could fix it?

Are you just saying just the speedometer and tach/mpg gauge are busted? Generally speaking its because of lose soldering on the speedo and tach, you can try resoldering gauges

I tried it and it just compleatly killed my speedo. So I just got a new cluster off ebay, it was $45

Thats my 2 cents unless someone else seems to thing there another reason, but Ive seen this probelm a LOT in e30s.

Also if your tach is 5k RPM I have an extra that I don't need/can use

no, i was trying to say that everything is broken except for the speedometer. and they all died at the same time, so i'm thinking it's just a lose wire or a short or something, but i don't know where to start looking.
