Was there an extended period of time or maybe once out-of-ordinary time when you drive your E30 really hard? Did you give it hell in traffic, over heat it, wreck it and bring it back to life, or take it off-road?

I lived in Atlanta for 4 years with my 325i. And sometimes (i moved often) i had a big commute. If you dont know much about Atl, its a good example of traffic hell. I would actually "use" my bimmer to get me to class on time which included 100+ mph on i285 sometimes. Othertimes, The downtown highway area would be stop and go in 110 heat index for an hour - my car did not like that at all.

Wish i didnt have to put my car through all that, but it seems to still purr like a tiger. :) (going on 192k since '91)

Yeah I romp the hell outta my bimmer, U turns over medeans, excessive speed, not shifting until almost redlining, peelin tire around corner and off the start, drive though ditches, lawns, parks, and on sidewalks just to name a few. Usually generally when someone is chasing me :) Or maybe ill just be pissed at bad drivers and pass them on the shoulder or something.

i give my 325 hell on a daily basis. as soon as it heats up to running temp, i rev to 5.5 or 6 frequently, take 90 degree turns at 35+, drive like a maniac through traffic for no appearant reason...i did get into an accident once because it was raining..full 180 and my back end is still screwed. so i drive really nice in the rain, but if it's dry, i'm loving it. going on 206000, and running smooth.

you really do gotta love the E30...my friend just dumped out 20 some-odd thousand dollars for a toyota celica gts...any idea how rewarding it is to waste a 180 HP brand new car with a 3 thousand dollar 15 year old car? i also burned up a 911 (couple decades old...) with witnesses. w00t for the E30

I did pizza delivery full time when I had my 318i, driving about 400-600 miles a week, stop and go (and always in a hurry) and never had any real serious problems at all, espescially considering that delivering can beat the hell out of a car. Biggest problem I had was losing the master cylinder and plowing my car into the back of a honda [burnout]

i always thought that a km was 6/10th of a mile, but that's only a few mph off. in anycase i thought the highest the e30 (non-m3) would go was 134 or something. i.e., i'm confused cuz 134<149

ok, i just checked, and i lose..it is 149. but i think 130 puts me at around 4500 RPM or so in 5th gear, so i dunno how you can get to 149.

Maybe cuz its euro spec? I dont know. All I know is I go hella fast. The speedo pegs out @ about 240km and revs @ 6000.
I also put my heater on high to help with the heat.

I dont recomend anyone taking your car to 6000 rpm. Unless you trust you car.
