Hey,
As some of you know, I have gone through MANY bulbs to use as my fog lights. I have tried stock color, aftermarket (blue/white) color, stock wattage, aftermarket (90W+) wattage, etc. Now my car is setup weird...the fog light bulbs also double as the high-beams. So the fog light bulbs for my car are size 9003 (popularly known as H4)...they are my fog lights/high beams, but many cars on the market use this size for their headlights.
A few days ago, I ordered these fog light bulbs called Philips Vision Plus Halogen bulbs (size H4 for my car). After doing a lot of research, these bulbs are apparently the brightest halogen bulbs you can buy on the market; they are 50% brighter than typical halogen bulbs and I have only read/heard good things about them.
Unfortunately, they are so bright, that they don't meet DOT requirements, so they are not completely legal (they do meet this other requirement, though). And because of this, you won't be able to purchase these bulbs in the US. I personally purchased my pair from this company Powerbulbs.com, located in the UK. Their price is $33 USD and shipping is included...I also received my order rather quickly.
Now as for their performance: I installed the bulbs today and checked them out and drove around with them for a few minutes, carefully analyzing their performance. The color of the bulbs are just like typical halogen bulbs...yellowish/orangish or whatever color you think factory Halogen bulbs are. Some of you may like this and some of you may not (I know some people prefer blue/white bulbs for that Xenon look...I know I do). As for their performance, I am extremely impressed. They light up the road brighter and farther and have a very nice beam pattern to them, and keep in mind I do have Xenon HID headlights running at the same time...these 55W/60W factory-rated fog lights are brighter than my aftermarket 90W/100W fog light bulbs. And when I turned on the high-beams (again, my fog lights double as my high-beams), my jaw dropped...they were just sooo bright.
So in conclusion, these are the best and brightest Halogen bulbs I have ever seen and owned, and I have owned many different sets. They offer the best Halogen bulb performance I have ever seen, hands-down, at a VERY reasonable $33 (shipped) price tag and they are rated to last for a long time (as opposed to PIAA bulbs which last for about 5 minutes) . I HIGHLY recommend these bulbs...they are available at Powerbulbs.com in H1, H4, and H7 sizes.
