HELP>>>>IPOD adaptor......radio stays on?

I have a 2005 325I and I installed the factory BMW IPOD adaptor. I followed everything to the exact instructions and all works fine EXCEPT now my stereo will not turn off when I turn off the ignition and remove the key. I have to now turn the stereo on/off manually. Also, after being on for 20 mintues, the stereo hits the fail-safe and shuts off.... even when driving. It's as if the stereo is unaware of the ignition sequence. Anybody have any clues? Do I need to get it all reset now?? Thanks in advance.

It turned out the be the radio fuse. Somehow it had been blown (thinking back we may have crossed a wire on accident). Anyways... all is working great now.

I just experienced the same thing on my 03-M3.

I mean exactly the same symptoms.

Solution,

Dealer installed a new radio and symptom remained.

Ordered another new radio and everything is GREAT!

There must be a production batch of that series radio that freaks out with the ipod install.
