Hi Guys,

Im not really a member here, im a MR2 Turbo Guy actually. Here goes. I was driving my GF's
00' e46 323i and ran over a cone in the middle of the road goin 40mph. As you can imagine, it did quite a number on the car. I knocked out her passenger fog, ripped out an underbody panel along with speed flap, put stress fractures on the F. Bumper, and ripped out part of the lower air dam (??).

What i need help with is, Part Numbers. Does anyone know of an EXTENSIVE Online BMW Parts Catalog. Ive used search engines and come across general ones, but nothing really good. Anyone have a link? or even a link to a Haynes/Shop Manual with part numbers. I know of good sources for Toyotas (Conicelli Parts Catalog), but none for BMW's. Ive got the part # for the fog, but i need more. Thanks for all your help guys.

I don't want to offend you or flame or anything but how do you manage to run over something that is not moving and is brightly colored going only 40 miles per hour? It makes me think that you did it on purpose but then why would you need the part numbers. Anyway, heres vlad's favorites list http://forum.bmwboard.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1256 for BMW parts. Also try pelicanparts.com. Wish you luck with the repairs.

thanks for your help. No offense taking, but i would like to clear up the situation. Late Friday night, i was coming out of hte Lincoln Tuneel heading towards turn pike. Coming out of the tunnel i head to the left lane. .. while switching i notice a knocked over cone in the MIDDLE of the left lane. There was no where else to go so i ended up hitting it. Thanks again.

I know exactly where you're talking about. They always do stupid construction on the roads around the tri-state area and they just leave mad cones lying around...I don't blame you dude, this stuff happens.
Yeah, I have no advice to offer.

Give me a list of the parts you need or a photo of the damage. Also I need the month of the car's build and if it's a 2-door/4-door, and if it's a manual or auto, or you can just PM/email me the VIN number.

Vlad

Thanks for your help I really appreciate it. I went to the stealership and they just blew me off and told me i needed to buy a new front end. Here's what I need: Passenger Fog, Piece of the Airdam (Passenger side only if possible, there is a visibile separation that defines the Passenger side), Passenger Underbody Panel/speed flap, and associated hardware (nuts, bolts, fasteners, clips, etc.). I already have the speed flap and fog part #'s but would appreciate it if you could post it anyway. I would like to make sure that I have the correct ones. Below is a pic with the damaged areas circled.

Also attached is a part sheet I found off the CircleBmw Parts page. I hope this can help, but im not even sure if its the right model (i chose e46 323i sedan, looks about right to me)

Details. The car is a 00' 323i Sedan. It is an automatic. It does not have any OEM body kit on it. The VIN is: WBAAM3344YCB26199. Thanks for all your help i really appreciate it.

Here's to you Vlad!!!

Vlad,

I would like to take my hat off to you. To take the time (your time) and go-out-of-YOUR-way to help myfirstdeuce (even when he states up front he is not a member nor a BMW fan outright (MR2 Turbo)) goes above and beyond call of duty, let alone the outstanding kind of guy you've shown yourself to be. All the while never flaming, questioning, nor pointing myfirstdeuce the door for not being a "BMW" owner or board member. This shows the type of members we have here that helps make this one of the best board on the net period. I have seen this time and time again from you and others here. So Kudo's and a big [cheers] to you.

By the way myfirstdeuce, welcome to the board and feel free to hang out anytime to talk shop. You will find it to be very helpful, informative, and flame free (to most extent). The more car enthusiasts on board the better.

P.S. I hope you are able to find all the part #'s, helpful websites, and help in general while here. I know Vlad is hooking you up to the best of his abilities.

yeah Vlad, youre the man.[thumb] I know if I ever have questions this forum will always have some good dependable answers. I especially appreciated your detailing guide vlad. Anyway, keep up the good work. And yeah Mr. Mr2 guy, welcome to the board. i used to be crazy about mr2's back in the day. My friend had a cherry red mr2 with a bumpin sound system, aw man, in high school that was my dream car. My parents wouldnt let me get one tho..said it was too dangerous. haha.

Thanks everyone from me as well. I'm looking for the equivalent part of #17 on myfirstduece's diagram, but for a e36 (1996 318is). Your posts were helpful to me in getting me to web sites where I could request the part by description. I couldn't find an online parts list for my exact model though. This part is probably pretty interchangable with all e36's, but there wasn't any breakdown to that level for any e36 models.
