I am picking up my 2005 330Ci this week (Premium Pkg, Cold weather Pkg, Xenon, Nav., Home link, Sirius radio). Since the Assist and bluetooth are standard now, I have just purchased the Motorola V710, from Verizon, to wirelessly connect & integrate with the car (should have latest profiles to actually work).

I do not want to buy the BMW phone kit, as it takes away the cup holders and I don't think the cost justfies it. I do want to connect it to a power source without using the cigarette lighter adapter and utilize the internal antenna. Someone had rigged up a system on these forums and I cannot find the link anymore and it did not seem complete.

Does anyone have DIY to utilize the wiring harness that is factory installed with the car so I can connect and run my own wire and connector through the console? Do I need a separate antenna? Where would I purchase the correct connectors to my phone?

I plan on hardwiring my V1 and the DIY's are great!

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

No. My car comes with BT and assist. I want to be able to run a cable up through the ash tray or the center console so I can plug in my V710 phone and have it charge and possibly use the existing car antenna. I do not want to purchase the kit from BMW as I don't like the solution. I saw somewhere on a forum where a guy rigged up a wire into the arm rest compartment that opens up (can't find it anymore). Would I need to make my own wire to hook up with BMW wiring harness or does the BMW kit have a module that is needed? I'm sure I could tap into the cigarette lighter for power but it would be nice to tap into the internal antenna for extra reception (Is there a need for an additional antenna with the BMW kit?). Any thoughts?
