Help New 2 The Forums!! SPEEDO PROB

hey people.. im new to the forum.. i have an 88 bmw like i describe below.. now im having a slight problem with the speedo.. i just got my gauges installed and ( btw they did a shitty ass JOB ) =( .. i payed good money for them but im never taking my baby back to that place.. well they had to use the RPM meter from my old 318i( which got totalled!!!) .. never got around to take pics of it.. it was a work in progress well now the speedo is working but it seems like its reading the speed wrong.. im on the road and it says im goin 80 when i deff feel like im goin 60 or less.. can anyone tell me why .. my mechanic is stumped as well and im not goin back to that place they did my gauges cuz theyre retarded.. HELP PLEASEEEE lol i dont need anymore points on my license ( 9 already !! ) lol .. btw u guys seem like coOl peoples.. ive been reading the posts all day.. E30's kick ass .. im spankin ricers left and right!! also good news.. got an estimate on my paint job.. $600.. thats IT!! an using the orignal paint.. i know the guy so hes hookin it up big time!!

Was the speedometer gauge taken from the 318i? My 1985 speedo did not go as high as my 89 325i speedo. The 89 speedo reads to 150 mph. The rear end ratios are also different between models which require different sending units in the rear.

no only the rpm meter was taken from the 318i.. the spedo is from the 325.. so idk what to do.. it only seems to happen on highways tho .. in the street it feels diff.. idk it seems stupid but idk what to do

nope not at all.. i would never subject my baby to that crap excuse for paint.. the guy just does it on the side job.. like he owns a lil chop shop i guess.. its not licensed or anythin.. he just does really good work.. did my previous 318i.. looked like it came from the show room =)

thanks.. im glad i stumbled onto this forum=).. oh anyone know how to change the bulbs on the a/c controls.. the fan control and the position indicator pictures are dimmed out .. also my clock does not work .. anything to remedy this.. cuz i have my old clock from my 318.. but im lookin into gettin an oBC but for now how can i fix this.. i cant see anythin..
