2002 330Ci "Program" car (driven by BMW exec for a year, but never licensed so still technically a "new" car), 15k miles, 5-speed manual, sport/premium/cold weather pkgs, HK, xenon, park distance, 18" alloys, steel gray with black leather, absolutely beautiful. It retails new for $42260. KBB values it in its used condition at $35670 private party, and $39470 dealer retail.

I could bring it home from the dealer tomorrow for $35275.

I've never owned a BMW before, so I'm asking the experts: should I make this one my first?

p.s. BTW, another contender for my dollars is a 2002 325Ci with automatic trans and only 3000 miles, negotiated down to $30k even. Is the 330Ci, with extra goodies but also with some extra miles, worth the $5k difference?

That seems like a very reasonable price for the 330. Is the 330 worth the extra $5K? The biggest difference is the engine. Drive both of them for 10 -15 minutes and make the engines do some work. Try it with the Auto in Sport Mode if the 2002 has Sport Mode. If you are satisfied with the 325 then you have your answer. I drove both and went with the 330. The 325 just didn't do it for me....[burnout]

Did you consider a left over 2003 coupe or convertible. Bmw is offering them at invoice (or a couple of hundred $ above), since the 2004 coupe came out. As far as the money for the engine difference, you'll have to drive it and see. I personally drove both and the power difference was very noticeable but wasn't worth the money since the 325 did have anough power for me.

Worth every penny. I hate when they make BMWs without any horses to back the brand up. I would hate to be the one eating the dust against other brands.

Well if that is the case, a convertible cobra can smoke you. Bmw's are for quality and ride if you are that worried about horsepower bmw gives the worst bang for the buck. By the way, when are you going to get some clears for your ride?

Don't like clears on a Jet Black. Its must be a personal thing.
