Anyone have experience mounting a XM satellite antenna on the rear deck inside the car-- with metallic based window tint. I have heard that most after market window tint film will cause interference because of the metallic base of the film.

I have uninstalled my after market XM from my 01' to put in my new 04' 325 when it gets here. My new 04' has BMW Assist with the shark fin. My XM satellite uses a similar shark fin for the antenna. It would look pretty tacky have two shark fins on the roof of my car. It would be like having 2 nipples on my car roof.

you will probably have to take the tint off, but at least put it in there and try it first and if you do have a problem, go from there. Until you know if the tint causes interference, then there is no clear answer as to what to do.
