I am new to the board, I have been reading a lot of your posts and responses and have found it to be very informative.Two questions,you know when you get into your car and you shoes rubs against the inside part of your door and seat area and leaves that dark tar like streak?Any recommendations on how to get that off?.I tried tar remover but it did'nt do a good job.Also the chrome trim around my doors are getting foggy,which cleaner dou recommend? Thanks all.

I can help you on the scuffs.

On the door, use goof-off, scuffs come right off. DON'T use goof-off on plastic trim as it can discolor it.

Also do not leave the goof-off on the surface after cleaning. Wipe the surface with a mild cleanser and cloth (I use armor all cleaner cloths).

believe it or not, oil based lighter fluid works great, like the stuff you use in a Zippo.
It comes in a yellow bottle with blue writing, I forget what make is, but any oil based fluid will work. It is like magic.

check the cleaning section. I think Vlad is the resident guru in that department. I hear him recommend Simple Green a lot.

Evermay, if the scuff is really bad, that part is really cheap and easy to replace. I ordered a new one for mine from pacificbmw.com and it was only $14.00. Also welcome aboard.
