Hi everyone! I just spent my life savings on a car! Everyone thinks I paid too much but boy! it drives like a dream.....ok, this is my first BMWand I've got questions. Hope you guys can take some time to help me out! SOrry for all the questions!

1)The 50/50 weight ratio thing

I 've always read in the car magazines that BMW have a 50/50 weight ratio. Why does my 01 325I weight so much heavier in the rear? It's like 2400lbs in the back and 1900lbs in the front. I might be dumb but I don't think that is 50/50. What does curb weight mean anyways?

2)Does the Harmon Kardon option just come with better HK speakers? Or is the head unit upgraded too? I only have a tape deck and no CD in the dash. I can't find the CD changer either, I'll look under the engine next.

3)I'll probably be installing my old CD changer that goes thru the FM station. I've read in the manual that there's 3 antennas in the back somewhere. Can someone show me where the antenna cable is (if there is one) that I can plug my CD changer into? The CD changer has a little "splitter unit" that combines the antenna signal and the CD changer signal and plays thru the FM station.

4)Maintenance warranty?
- I bought the car at 35,888 miles 2 weeks ago and I've driven about 1000miles already. What was covered under that warranty? Oil change? Inspection I? Maybe I can talk the local BMW dealer into providing any services...?

5)"Regular" warranty
Is that for 4years/50k? I sure hope so because my moonroof sunshade is off the track.

6) Where can I get some cheap fog lights that will fit in those 2 "vent holes" under the headlights?

Thanks everyone! I'm sure glad I bought the 325I, the Lexus IS300 is looking more uglier everyday

Welcome to the board.

Not all BMW's are 50/50 weight ratio. Curb weight is the weight of of the vehicle, fueled and ready to go, however without the weight of any occupants.

Harmon Kardon should be head unit, amp, and speakers.

All BMW's (newer ones) are pre-wired for CD changers, etc. Should be in the trunk.

Warranty is 5 years 50000. Oil is covered in the first 3 years and 36000.

Those "vent holes" are most likely ducted to the brake rotors for cooling. I would not fill them with fog light.
