Hi Gang,
I have the Harmon Kardon sound system in my 1999 323i sedan. Lately, it seems that some frequencies of music cause the sound to break up a bit. When I disengage the HK audio button I don't hear this problem, so I suspect it's the 2 door tweaters. I am happy with this audio system and just want to replace the damaged speakers.
So, my questions are...
1. Does it sound like it's the tweaters that are going bad?
2. Does anyone know the specs on the HK tweaters or what's the best way to replace them? (ie dealer, car stereo shop etc?)
I know a many of you are HK haters and will jump to respond "GET AN AFTERMARKET AUDIO SYSTEM etc." I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I like the HK and would appreciate if you could just help w/ my question and not get off-topic. Thanks for understanding.
Many thanks,
=)
