I just got back from my vacation to pick up my 325 xi. I seemed to notice that there were no buttons installed for homelink or the integrated garage door opener. I find that kind of weird. Does anyone know if it's supposed to come with homelink? I have the Premium Package and CW Package.

BTW: There is nothing like the feeling of doing 100 mph on the autobahn. I wish I could have gone faster, but my speed governer was in the passenger seat. [spank]

No, it does not come with the homelink system. Looks very easy to install though. It goes into the same pannel that your sunroof switch and mic for the BMW assist is located. The plastic is already cut very thin where it will go. I'm not sure of the exact cost, but I'm pretty sure it was over $100.

I think mine was $179 installed at the dealership.

I found the best price to purchase it was Pacific BMW in CA or Circle BMW in NJ. I got mine and installed it in about an hour. You have to temporarily remove the light to remove the sunroof switch panel. The panel can then be detached from the wiring. You then have to cut out along the plastic outline to install the switch. You then have to program the module after reinstalling the panel and light. If your garage door opener uses rolling code technology you have to program it in your driveway. The dealer can only program it if it is an old opener without rolling code. Almost all openers mfg since 1996 are rolling code. The gates in gated communities do not use rolling codes so that part is a snap. The instructions that come with it are fairly good and like I said should take about an hour. The price at Circle is $138. Dealers out west charge $300- $500 incl installation but you still have to program it. The houselight module is a separate unit that must be purchased separately.
