Thanks for the link Big Daddy, I've already seen a few accessories at Pelican that I was going to order from Bavarian Autosport. Low and behold, they're cheaper at Pelican.

Thanks!

Sorry to hear that.

But, it shows how great the "BMW" brand is, that people will actually steal
the logo.

It's probably one of the top 3 brands in the world, regardless of product.

Let us know how the replacement goes as far as time, effort, look, etc.

Might want to check out your local dealership. I just ordered a new BMW trunk emblem from BMP Design (cheaper than bavauto was), but they sent me the hood emblem by mistake (didn't realize it until after I put it on the car). They promptly Fed-Exed me the trunk emblem (and didn't make me send back the hood one), but they didn't give new grommets with the trunk emblem (I destroyed the ones I ordered when I tried to put the hood emblem on the trunk), so I went to the local BMW dealer to pick up replacement grommets. The guy at the parts counter told me that he would gladly match or beat any prices from any of the mailorder places, and I could walk out of the parts department with the part in hand and not have to pay shipping! Might want to ask if your BMW dealer will extend the same favor!

No problem. Pelican has always been real good to me. They carry most anything you need and sometimes you have to call and ask as it is not listed.

My front roundel is starting to peel. I need to replace it. Don't mean to sound dense here...but what do you mean by grommets.

Can anyone describe what I need to do to pop off the old one and pop in a new one?

Using a small screwdriver (or a small plastic putty knife) and a rag to protect the paint gently begin prying the roundel up working your way around it. The roundel is help in by two grommets, small rubber rings that grip the taps of the roundel. At times some putty material may be stuck onto the back of the roundel as extra security in holding it in. Always replace the grommets to insure that the roundel is secure.

Do you have to put the new grommets on from the inside of the hood? Or can you fit them in from the outside then pop on the new roundel?

You just pop them into the holes from the outside and then push the pegs of the new roundel into the grommets. Really easy.

So Helpfull!!

I just noticed yesterday that my hood emblem was peeling off. After 5 minutes on this site, I not only knew how to replace it, but had a great link to Pelican Parts to get what I needed. Just wanted to say thanks! [thumb]

Someone posted a step-by-step photo lesson on how to change the roundel without damaging the paint.

I think if you do it without looking at something like that, you'll probably scratch your paint.
