hood shocks removal and installation

I need to replace my one hood shock. It is dead and now a need a hood prop or get it fixed. It is cheap enough but I have no clue how the retaining brackets come off. Anybody know? Thanks. [???1]

It's easier than it looks. Just pry them off with a flathead screwdriver and the new one snaps on. The clips don't come off separately.

do you mean bend the piece. It looks like all one piece behind some kind of screw/pin. Looks like the screw/pin is keeping the piece in.

I haven't changed the strut on my 323, but on the 540, the pin just has a ball on the end which holds the strut on. I just pryed the strut over the ball and it came right off and the new one snapped on.
