How can I trace my car online using my order number?

I was going to say go to BMWUSA and clink on the order tracking link. Then I noticed you were in Toronto. So BMW of Canada should have the same feature on there website. But you will have to wait until your Dealership gives you a "Production number" -- which usually follows sometime after you get a order number. Then you can use the "production number" on the website to track your order.
looking back, i wish i never had the ability to track my order. it seemed like every chance i had i was looking it up on the computer, i was spending so much time watching it and nothing ever seemed to change. I say, wait the 6-8 weeks and try not to think about it. I am pretty sure there is a 800 number but am not sure if it will work for Canadians.
IF they are using Walenius Wilhelmsen to ship your bimmer from Germany you can track it by VIN on the WW website. Note that BMW also uses another shipping company as well, I don't recall who it is.
Get your VIN and go to http://www.2wglobal.com/www/customerCentre/index.jsp
On the Track by Cargo popup, click AUTO, enter VIN and click Track.

Kirby is right -- you can track it via the shipper. But, I'm with Longshanks... if you can track it...you will...It was almost obsessive. Made the wait kind of exciting, but it really was a waste of time. I'm just glad to know I'm not the only one who checked everyday, multiple times.
There's nothing you can do to speed up the process...so just wait the 8 weeks. If it shows up earlier than the quoted date-- its that much more "special".
