i'm new to the board so first of all hello! recently purchased an '03 330i sport/prem and traded in my 350Z. looking forward to the bimmer experience and have enjoyed the car to date (a whole month). feel like it's my first car in that i'm so giddy on this car.......

got a few questions....

looking for a good place to purchase quality mods (ex. M3 style lip spoiler-painted, etc.) anyone have/know any suggestions? group buys?

saw advertising for a product called crystal shield in a recent car and driver that looked pretty interesting. supposedly a coating utilizing teflon to eliminate the need to wax. any info/comment?

Why I traded in the 350z...

I was disappointed in the performance and handling of the 350z over time. The ride was too stiff. It also felt like a pig and had too much understeer through the turns. The BMW is slower but handles better and has a better feel to it.

course there's bavauto.com

Are you thinking of CrystalGuard? I've used it. It's typically advertised on 350Z/G35 sites cuz the owner or one of his workers drives a 350Z. I can't really tell that it does anything. My paint isn't really any shinier and it doesn't feel too much smoother. It's just a touch smoother feeling, but nothing like wax. Bird crap and junk did wash off a lot easier though.

don't get me wrong, i had a blast in the car, but the 330i gives me "similar" performance feeling and more practicality with the back seat.
The Z's had a lot of issues that were undenyingly annoying. Realizing that a first year production car will have some "bugs, it shouldn't distract from your enjoyment of driving/owning the car. Well, over time, these did. anyone interested in buying a Z should follow up with me via email to discuss several things you should discuss with dealer prior to purchasing.
Finally, Nissan's commitment to customer service was also very sub-par. A lot of the promises made during the selling/marketing of that car were not followed through after we received the car. While spending over $30k for a car may not be much anymore, IMO it still demands some competent level of customer service and NNA didn't even come close.
