From readings in several forums, Huper Optik is more popular in US/Europe. Here in Singapore, V-Kool is the defacto brand, although HO is cheaper. I read that V-Kool is metallic and that it might affect handphone reception. Is there any other reason why V-Kool is not popular? Is it because V-Kool has less dealers... or more expensive?

I have both. V-Kool is slightly more expensive. At the prices I paid, the difference was negligible.

V-Kool's main disadvantage seems to be that it's mainly offered in the lighter shades. 70% or 75%. Huper has the normal darker shades. When people want tint, they want the privacy that darker shades provide in addition to the heat rejection.

The fact that it's metallic and may affect radar detectors/cell phones/radio, etc. doesn't help V-Kool either.

Hüper Optik window tinting is really hard to find. I live in Hollywood (about 1.5 miles from Beverly Hills)...and with all the celebs, awesome cars and folks with lots of cash...there is not 1 Hüper dealer. I found 1 place in Brentwood (about 10 miles from Hollywood), and they now only do residential and commercial properties.

I ended up going to my regular local window tinter, and had regular (but high performance) tinting installed. Lifetime warranty, and looks great.

Hüper is imported from Germany, so adds a lot to the price.

I am going for Huper because I have my XM Satellite antena mounted on the rear deck. Huper is the only "non metallic" based tint on the market I can find. So I am going to have to shell out the big bucks for it if I can't find another non metalic tint.
