I am so happy with the support I got that I decided to post a couple thank yous on the forums. I got it from these guys and the installation was really really easy. www.bimmernav.com/e46.html

I would like to say thank you very much to those guys as I do not know much about this stuff and they talked me through the simple install on the phone

[werd] That guy Martin at Bimmernav is awesome. I did an install on my 2005 E46, and he was awesome to deal with!

Wow, I also just did a Bimmernav bluetooth install yesterday on my 530i. I am very pleased with it and the shipping was very quick. I would recommend them to anyone interested.

Maxer: if your car was built after March 04, it may have BT already. Check for a BT card with your manuals with a 4 digit pass code. If not, I'd definitely recommend the install, even if you have to lose Assist. That's what I did and it's great. I did find my car already had the BT antenna mounted and my assist module also had a BT logo, but by then it was too late; installed the pairing button and the module. It works great.

BTW, HHornet, do you have the link to the on line manual that goes over all the voice commands? The system stores its own voice activated names for dialing that you program in verbally. I can't find the link now, but I looked back and it's somewhere on the bimmernav.com site.

drkeng: That'd be great! But I picked the car up in March 2004, so its build date was Dec03/Jan04. I found the number that people can use to "call the car", but unfortunately no BT. Good news is its all wired up and ready to go, just gotta get that kit.

Thanks for the info. [thumb]

I've been thinking about doing this for some time now. I've got a 2004 w/Assist so it should be pretty easy.
It will be a piece of cake. I bought my car in March 2004 (build date 10 February 2004) so it was lacking the BlueTooth module. I did have BMW Assist, so I knew the wiring and microphone were already there. Took me just a few hours to do the complete install, and I'm sooooo glad I did. I laugh to myself when I see people fumbling with mobile phones while trying to drive -- comforted with the fact I don't have to :)

The NotePad feature is VERY helpful too. During my drive home (I have a 45 minute drive each way to work), I think of all sorts of things I'll need to do later that night, or whenever... I just speak them into the notepad, and play it back when I pull into my garage. Love it!
