right. more (newbie) questions for you all......

my car is idleing really badly right now. i'm looking for ways to cure it.

from a cold start it idles ok at first but as soon as i give it a quick rev then the idleing starts getting really bad -> the revs vary continuously between approx 600 and 1000rpm - it rises and falls every second or so.

After a short run with the engine warmed up the car idles fine at around 700 rpm.
I've installed a new exhaust and K&N 57i kit but i'm sure it didnt idle well before these were added.

the car drives just fine and pulls well at any other time its just crap at idle!

Any ideas how i could fix this???!
i read that the engine management can be reset and this often fixes things? is this true and is it simply a case of disconnecting and reconnecting the battery?

or is there some sort of adjustment that can be made to the airflow meter that would help.

thanks again
scott.

clean out your ICV (idle control valve) and check your intake system for leaks....unmetered air will usually screw with your idle. Cleaning the ICV and buying a new intake boot fixed it for me....

good luck[thumb]
