Installing a woofer in '01 325i

The car came equipped with a Business CD and base sound system (not Harmon-Kardon). What I'm looking for is a little bit more base without sacrificing the nice Business CD deck for an ugly aftermarket headunit.

So, is it possible to install maybe a 12" Kicker subwoofer in the car and keep the stock unit? I'll buy an amp too if needed.

That would almost certainly make the system sound worse.

You can get better bass, and better sound overall, by installing
better quality speakers.

These speakers are not only higher quality, but are very efficient, and
you should not need additional amplifiers.

It's possible, you'd just have to install a line-out converter to one of the back speakers.
