I know this has been discussed before but i cant seem to find the post for it anymore thru my search...

i am picking up my 330ci ZHP this Friday and wanted to see if you ipod owners could help.

I would like to hook up my ipod to my HK stereo, and also at the same time use the cell phone power source under the arm rest of the front seat to charge it.

I found a post before of some genuis who hooked up the ipod with the cell phone power source and with the ipod resting in the cupholders......it was also covered with the european cover so that the ipod was hidden from view. All the wires of the install was hidden and it looked great

please help me do the same and if you have the DIY directions for this, that would be great
thanks

If you search using keyword I-Pod you will find numerous post on this subject and different ways to achieve IPOD use in your Bimmer.

1)Aux input in the glovebox
2) Belkin Transmitter
3) I think there may even be Blitzsafe interface that allows you to use your CD changer wiring harness (you have to be creative in the wiring back up to the cockpit area though)

I recommend the aux input that you install in the glovebox (msrp$50). I haven't put it in yet, but that is my next project. I just finish installing my xm reciever to my cd changer harness via Blitzsafe interface last night.

I think this is a better solution than leaving the iPod in plain view ...a lot of great info (some of it by me). I had the dealer install the BMW AUX port in my glove box and am using the flashlight charger as the power source, allowing me to keep the iPod and all associated cables out of sight and in the glove box. I've also got an RF wireless remote that can either travel with me on my key fob or live in my ashtray. The remote controls the iPod playlists, etc. I use the steering wheel volume button to control the volume, and the wireless remote to skip between tracks, etc. (although the remote also has volume up/down functionality).

One other neat thing about the remote is that it works up to 20 feet away from the car. I frequently leave the top down with the stereo going when I'm hanging out with friends at the beach or at the park. It's cool to be able to switch between songs and control the volume when I'm not actually sitting in the car.
