Is auto tilt down mirror standard?

I was thinking of trying to retrofit it to my car. Then, as I was moving my car today, to my surprise, the mirror tilted down automatically. I know when you set the side mirror switch to the driver's side, that activates it, but I coulda sworn when I first got the car, I played around with it and didn't see it happen. I have Sport Package, but that's about it on my 03 325Ci. Is it supposed to be standard? I don't recall it being on my window sticker.

The auto-tilt is listed as a part of the premium package. I talked to my dealer, because I am ordering the PP piece by piece, and he said he was 99.99% sure I would still get the auto-tilt without the PP, but I'm still waiting for a definite answer. Do you have the PP? If you don't I guess its standard.

Here's is the extensive list of my options: Sport Package, moonroof, Steptronic, xenons. That's it. No leather or anything. That's why I was surprised I had it, if it's still there tomorrow.

My tint's don't match exactly. V-Kool is metallic so it's kinda shimmery. I prefer the Huper look, but the V-Kool is a lighter shade. Can't really tell there's tint unless you stand over it.

I must say I do not like the tilt down mirror. I think it is great if parking by a curb, but I hate this while trying to pull out of a parking space or backing into my garage that is on a slight incline. I may as well not even have a mirror under these circumstances. The tilt down mirror is also responsible for a scrape on my new paint because I had no idea where I was at in relationship to my garage wall on the upper part of my car above the tire without physically getting out and looking.

I have 325i /w sports pkg. do I have this tilt feature? IF not, can you upgrade it easily? It seems just need to re-program some part of software in the car no?

You can easily disable this feature by setting your mirror set switch to left mirror (or right). I can't remember exactly but I have mine disabled.

I believe it is standard on all BMWs, I think. I didn't even know my car had it until my salesman called me up and asked if I wanted my tilt down mirror activated. Ofcourse, I said yes hehe! I believe you just have to have it activated...

I didn't ask. I asked for just autolocks and turn off the DRLs. Well, I asked them to turn on my clown nose when I lock but they wouldn't do it. I found the autotilt on accident.

They said "it wasn't possible." Retards. I wasn't there but I gave my mom a piece of paper with instructions on which computer code to use to activate it. They still claimed it wasn't possible. I plan on installing an alarm anyways (I think) so I guess it doesn't matter. One of these days, I'll just call up a different dealer and see if they'll do it. I'm still sorta undecided on the alarm since I have to buy and install a shock sensor separately for it to be of any use.

I like the clown nose activated since I don't have an alarm, but I do have the GPS2000 system for tracking, locking myself out of the car, etc........my past experiences with stolen cars, the alarm has been useless......I just want to find it quickly to minimize the damage. Good luck on your clown.....
