Is BMW Paint Really This Delicate?

I returned to my parked car today (which couldn't have been there for more than an hour) to find two spots of bird sh*t on the hood.

With a microfiber cloth, I attempted to remove the two spots. I removed them.
Now I have 2 stains on my hood ! How could this have happened so quickly ?
I know for a fact that the hood was spotless when I parked it. So the longest it could have sat there for is about an hour.

Anyone else have a problem like this?

By the way, my car is Jet Black.

try spritzing the bird shit with water from a spray bottle, let it sit for a minute to soften the stain and lift the stuff up a bit, wipe off with soft cloth (don't rub it in), follow up with a detailing spray, buff with a microfiber cloth. Works for me on my jet black every time a @#%$% bird gets me.

that doesn't sound right...my dad is the laziest at watching his 745Li and he leaves bird shit on for sometimes a couple of days before he takes it for a wash and it doesn't leave any of that stuff
Your dad apparently doesn't wax very often. The stain is in the wax, not the paint.

What I did Was...

I used a microfiber cloth after dampening it with some "Mist and Shine" (a great product by the way) the cloth was not dry. I tried dampening it with some warm water when I got home...no luck ! I guess I will have to bring it to my detailer and hope to god it is only in the wax.

One hour sounds impossible for bird$%&# to eat paint. Has to be in the wax. I think it is a good idea to let the dealer look at it. Tell them you are worried about it, let them try to clean it off, and if it is truly damaged, you have a warranty issue IMO.

We have lovebugs here in FL (other parts of the country too) that basically have alien blood (from the movie) for guts. You have a week max to get them off, and if you don't they will eat thru your paint.

Maybe that bird ate lovebug concentrate for breakfast...

I have had my car for 6 months with no rock chips. Compare that to my last car which was a 350z and had hundreds of chips after just a few months....
