What happened with your license? Care to share?

Shouldn't be too much wrong. Just top off you gas (I think), and buy a battery tender. You might worry about flat spots on your tire (if you're paranoid, they have this pad you can buy which prevents it).

yeah, first tell us how you got your license suspended [fake]

then you'll probably want to inflate your tires to the maximum psi allowed by the tire, other than that it would probably be healthy to start it once a week, but what do i know.

[wave] fran, how long before you can drive? are you a speed demon on the turnpike or what ?

like the guys said gas gets " stale " after awhile so you should fill it up with some good gas and tires tend to get flat spots while sitting for an extended period. how long? I'm not sure. you can just move it around in the driveway so it won't be sitting on the same spot on the tires. Have your tires properly inflated and start up your bimmer once a week .

What does it take to get 12 pts in 12 mnths ? just curious if you'd like to share..

Not very often can I help on this forum, but here is the skinny on "flat spots".

Temporary flat spots were a tire problem many years ago when everyone ran bias-ply tires. The only way a radial can develp a temporary flat spot is when the vehicle is parked after a period of high-speed driving which results in high tire temperatures. Without a period of low-speed driving before parking the vehicle, the temporary flat spots can develop.

But don't worry, temporary flat spots can be removed by driving a distance of at least
15 miles at speeds of at least 55 mph to heat the tires. If the wheels and tires
are to be balanced, the driving session should end with slower driving to allow
the tires to cool down while still rolling. Remove the wheels immediately
for balancing.

Sorry if it sounds like a canned statement, my fa-shure is a tire nut for the past 40 years...

If you still don't believe me, the boat takes over 3 weeks from Europe to the East coast and nobody rotated your tires on the trip over...

Oh, and the shelf life of regular unleaded is 30 days, super/premium could be up to 45 days, AVGAS is best, 6 months before any worries.

Peace!

cheers fran, welcome to the club of "the punished drivers" [hihi]

as far as your problem is concerned, don´t worry. a month or more does have any big impact on your car. tires and gaz questions don´t even pop up. my stood for about a year with very frequent movement only and nothing happened.

only thing to take care of is the bat. i heard that E46 sometimes drain the battery pretty quick and when you don´t drive it -> recharge it, it could be dead quick. it doesn´t help to start the car for a minute or two, that will only drain it even faster. you need to run it a while to charge. so better have a friend drive it once in a while or disconnect.

for the rest, just look forward to get the licence back and don´t get used to take the bus okay?!
