I recall reading that if you put the gas pedal to the floor,
there is a "button" under the pedal that opens the
throttle wide for maximum speed.

Anyone confirm or try this?

Still haven't floored my 330 yet...

It's not really a button per se. When you floor it, you can push past this indent and that basically tells your car you want max acceleration. You can feel it cuz it feels like the pedal should stop, but if you keep pushing, it goes down another inch or so.

It doesn't necessarily downshift to the lowest gear, because that would be first gear. What your car will do is downshift to the lowest gear possible without revving the engine past redline. I'm sure this is what you meant, bahnstormer, but I just wanted to clarify.

It also bypasses the steptronic inputs from the driver, in my experience it'll only upshift at redline . So if I want to shift myself I keep the pedal right up to the button..

One of my favorite pastimes, especially when coming home from a rotten day at work, is to get to about 50 mph then pull the steptronic into M mode, pop the shifter forward two times to downshift into 3rd gear and floor the accelerator. Wow! talk about a cheap thrill!! If you had any doubts as to paying the extra $$ over the 325, then this move will make you a 330 believer. Oh, and be sure to turn off the radio, you do not want to miss out on the beautiful growl coming from that sweet straight six. [thumb]
