I popped into my local BMW dealer , just to see what they had. They are currently offering $5500 off of all 325's until June 30th. I test drove an auto, but they found the following on a ship headed over here:

2004 325i sedan
Jet black/ black interior
Leather
Sport Package
Premium Package
Xenon
5 speed manual

According to Kelley Blue book, The sticker is 35,445 and MSRP is 32,475. They are offering it for $30k even. The only option I would be missing is heated seats and the nav system. When compared to my dream car, the 330, this seems like a deal I can't turn down. What do you guys think?

I believe "sticker" and "MSRP" are the same thing. You need to compare $30K to the INVOICE price (which you can get on kbb.com and lots of other places). Invoice is the only number that means anything. (But it sounds like a great car!)

I agree with xmas63...normally MSRP is about $3,000+ more than invoice. BMW is probably giving dealers rebates again on all '04 models to help sell off their inventory.

Another site to check out invoice price is Edmunds.com.

That's an excellent deal, unless you have your heart set for sure on a 330 (which would be barebones w/o packages from what it sounds like your range is), then you should snap that up - nice array of packages and stealthy color combo. Sounds like a winner. [:)]

Sounds like a great deal. Someone keeps mentioning that there's some special rebate or something out there so under invoice is possible now, but that far under sounds like a great deal!

I called a competing dealership in the Dallas area and they said they talked about this in their sales meeting last week. They can't come anywhere near this price. BTW, I was thinking about picking it up in Spartanburg. Has anyone else done this before? It looks like a poor-mans version of euro delivery.

If you have the time to do it, you should (I would!). You get to drive it back through the carolina mountains (hills!) a bit! Nice way to learn how it moves on hills and twisties, and combined.

Section 8,

That sounds like a good idea. I'll have to do that. Apparently all 325 sedans are from S. Africa. Some threads say that's bad, some that say its fine.

Ok, just came back from another visit with the dealer. I'm getting this car for $31,571 out the door. Only thing it doesn't have is Nav, HK and a split back seat. My dealership (Autobahn in Fort worth) is offering $5,500 off all 325's until June 30. They will even trade for it (mine's still on the boat). I asked why they are doing this, and the main reason is to make sales goals for the year (get into Presidents club, etc...) They said they are losing about $1500 a car but that the dealer set aside money for this exact reason.

For those that care, I dealt with Max Kohanyuk. By far the best experience I've ever had purchasing a car.

One more thing....

I asked to do Performance Center delivery and they said the backlog was 45-60 days so I have to take delivery locally.

Thanks to everyone for all of your input!

Where did you hear this? My car was built in Munich and other 325i's I know of in Regensburg. I would re-check your source. [scratch]

7803,

I noticed some of the window stickers in cars on the lot stated a S. Africa origin. I believe I had seen a discussion on this at Roadfly. I'll see if I can find that link.

Well then some of the cars are made in South Africa... But by no means ALL, is the sticker on the car you are supposedly getting for $31k from South Africa?

Congratulations---that's an awsome deal! I've never heard of getting a new BMW below invoice, let alone $1500 below. With the $$ you saved, you can upgrade your sound system to one even better than the HK, and there are also plenty of things you can do to boost performance, if the 325 vs. 330 thing is an issue for you. Congrats again.
