Is This Normal???

I have discovered that my car sometimes vibrates when it's stationary with gear in and clutch depressed.

I'd come to a red light, put the gear into 1st and wait for the light to turn green. This is where I feel this vibration with RPM moving up and down in a small range. Shouldn't RPM stay constant at this stage? I think the vibration is felt when RPM drops and it's almost as if it's going to die completely.

It doesn't happen all the time but I am starting to get concerned. What would cause this and is this worth taking it to a dealer? Has anyone experienced something like this?

Thanks!

I think it only happens when the engine hasn't warmed up fully. I never felt this vibration after driving for a while. The owner's manual tells you not to warm up your car stationary and instead drive it off slowly. So I usually take off (slowly) right away after starting the engine. Could this be why?

If you release the clutch in netural is the vibration still there? How many miles on the car and when was the last time the fuel filter was changed? Fuel injectors dirty?

I'll take it to the dealer and get it check out since it's under warranty anyway. Minimum 91 Octane..I'm using 93..I think race track (gas station) have 91.

Good luck to you though and keep us posted.

Ok, being that new and having very few miles we can rule out fuel filter and dirty injectors. Try it with the car in netural and releasing the clutch, then take it to the dealer and start documentation and repairs.

I thought I'd post what happened with this. I took it to the dealer and they did not find anything that would cause something like this. They did, however, find a minor problem with DSC and fixed it. Ever since then, I haven't seen the problem. Weird...
