Mine is on both driver and pass sides. I am talking about the corner piece of rubber that the window comes up into above where the mirror connects to the car. The only piece that the window touches when up, when the door is open.

I think it is due to the excessive number of times the window goes up and down when opening and closing the doors, you know that feature.

My driver side is split about 0.5", passenger a little less. I am worried it is going to get worse and may be a recurring problem even if I have them replace it under warranty....

Does anyone else have the same issue? What do you people think?

I haven't noticed any problem with mine. Of course, it depends on how many times the doors have been opened. Definitely check with the dealer to see if its covered under the warranty.

Definitely under warranty. I've never heard of this tearing.

My driver side window was running real slow last year...to the point where it would stop and time out. I got some of that BMW Uber-whatever-it's-called (their rubber cleaner). It's like 7 bucks. If you smear some of that along the edges and top then the window moves like new. I was really impressed, considering the dealership said I might need a new motor ($500)!

I wonder if your tearing BMWRocks might be from not being cleaned and lubed? But your car is so new...it must just be a bad part?

Mine is tearing on the drivers side.

I also have a whistling sound coming from the driver side mirror when approaching 40-50+. Anyone else?
