[thumb] I was on my way home from Downton D.C. today about a mile from home in stop and go traffic on Berry Road when all of a sudden I feel this big thud from behind and to my surprise a Toyota Camry rear-ended me. The lady was really very nice, she has insurance, her Camry got the worse part of the exchange, her front-end including lights are destroyed. She basically destroyed my rear diffuser, and left a couple cracks and dings in my rear bumper appron. I will need to replace the entire rear bumper appron including the diffuser. I've had the car since 1999 and have 185,000 original miles and now an accident. I see this as an opportunity to get a Hamann rear bumper appron and diffuser. I'm told that how you see the problem is the problem, either you see it as a problem or as an opportunity. Happy Motoring...

Well, your car survived that long without an accident. That's pretty darn good. Plus, it's minor damage. I'd see it as a good opportunity to get a nice rear bumper like that Hamann you're talking about.

Sorry to hear about that. Make sure there is no damage to the actual chassis or frame of the car. I was with my Brother in his company car once and we got slammed from behind, the car behind was a write-off, yet we had no visual damage because of there being a tow bar on the back of our car, however the rear doors were not aligned correctly after the accident.

[thumb] Thanks Taz, I had the chassis and frame checked out today. My car dude raised my bimmer and guided me on a tour of the chassis and frame. Fortunately all the damage is purely cosmetic, the accident was at about ten miles an hour. I'm just waiting on the other insurance company to contact me to work out the details. I just hope they're not going to try to snowball me concerning a fair settlement for my damages. I'm not a fan of insurance companies or their lawyers. Happy Motoring...

You know whta, you're a pretty cool guy. You got your head on straight and have a psoitive outlook on things. I like that.

My recommendation is go with the ACS rear diffuser. it's functional and extremely sexy because of the CF.

Congratulations for taking the accident like a man and not whinning like many others. I just heard that some owner of a new car assaulted some 63 year old guy for getting some sand on his car.

Anyway, congratulations again, and it's great that you've turned something negative into a a potential opportunity for a mod. [:)]
