Just got a Z4 loaner car.....WOW !!!
I just got a 2004 Z4 3.0 loaner while my 2002 330Ci gets its first scheduled maintenence.

All I can say is WOW !

What a pocket rocket.

Its an automatic and with traction control off I was able to smoke up an entire parking lot.

This thing would run circles around my 330Ci.

The exhaust sound is great too !

Cabra: how is the "zippiness" of the Z4 compared with the 330 Ci?

I found the 330 Ci very responsive but if in the market for a Z4 would probably go for a Boxter

Ultimately I'm after an M3

The Z4 is expensive, but I would recommend a Z4 3.0 over a Boxster...one would really have to love the Boxster to take that over a Z4 3.0. Of course, it it's between the Z4 3.0 and the Boxster S, I'll take the Porsche. [:D]

That's debatable (based on personal taste). And I hate not to choose the BMW on this one, but I love the Boxster S too much to just pass it up. Amazing styling, similar acceleration, better handling, better braking and I know I said this already, but it is just such a great-looking roadster.

The Z4 is MUCH more "zippy" than my 330Ci. Seems like it has more power and torque at all RPM's. Its like driving a go-cart.

Id also probably pick a Porsche Boxster S over the Z4 just on style.
But considering Ive never driven a Boxster S, Id have to take one for a spin first.


Theres also very little wind when driving with the top down and windows up.
It was a warm 50 degree day here in Chicago today so I had to take it for a spin with the top down.

Driving around curves and weaving in and out of traffic, my 330Ci would have a really tough time keeping up with this Z4.

(Both my 330 and the Z4 are automatic with steptronic)

I just like the general styling of the Z4 over the boxster. Don't get me wrong, I think the boxsters and ANY porsche for that matter are some of the best looking cars (current models anyways.)

I just prefer the styling of the Z4.
