I just finished replacing the front passenger window regulator in my 2000 328i. All in all, not that tough a job if you have a little mechanical ability. Total job from start to fininsh took about 1.5 hours, but I'm sure now that I've done one I can do it in an hour next time. The toughest part is getting that damn vapor barrier off without tearing it! Seeing as how my dealer stocks the part and sells it for $75, it seems well worth it to DIY.
