you can do that yes, for that money you should be able to get an alarm too. The Vipers can be had online for like 100-120.

Autolok makes a one touch kit. I think you can also get the swith/controllers form an E36 but that would mean fitting the switches in.

forgot. Wire colors and locations can be found at the12volt.com (when it works, which is about 50% of the time). Someday I will think to save the page.
