Anybody have any good or bad stories with King BMW in New Jersey?
I plan on purchasing my BMW from there and would like to know what
to expect, good or bad, so I'm prepared.

Any info would help.

Thanks,

I don't know about King BMW, but try to purchase the car towards the end of the month, and go to the dealership in the middle of the day, middle of the week. Tell the salesman you are ready right here and now to make a deal, and they will do their best for you.
As I understand it, Park Ave BMW provides the best prices in NJ. If you are able to get to that dealership, you should probably go there.

During the summer, I was looking at the 325xi and the 330xi sedans, preferring to get preowned. Went to King BMW first, since they seemed to have the widest selection. Unfortuantely, the ones on the lot had none of the options I wanted, and frankly they didn't really seem to be taking very good care of the cars they had. All were really dirty and looked pretty well worn. The sales guy was pushy and didn't seem very knowledgable. Typical used car salesman attitude.

When I decided to explore 2004 models, that salesman at King was a great guy. Knew all the ins and outs about the cars, and was easy to deal with. I would definitely have gone with King for a new car, though not a preowned, except that the dealership was 1/2 hour from my house and they woudn't put a clause in the contract that would make them come to my house for a pickup should I need service. For that reason, I went to Circle BMW in Shrewsbury, which is only about 10 minutes away. They have been pretty decent to deal with so far.

MrElussive, snowsedan04:

Thanks for the feedback ... one of the problems with reading message boards is that you get nervous when you read some horror stories in regards to some dealerships!

snowsedan04, the new car salesman you dealt with at King ... was it Sean? I've talked to him casually at times and he's very knowledgeable and easy to talk to.

Thanks again,

Yeah, Sean was the guy I was dealing with for the new order. He's a really cool salesman. Very knowledgeable about the BMW cars. Not pushy at all. I felt bad that we didn't buy the car from him, but the dealership was just too far away for me.

codex57,

Yeah ... I will once I deal with them. I expect it to go well with Sean, but we'll see.

Thanks,

They are a smaller, low-volume dealer.

You'll probably pay a bit more, but hopefully will get better service (?).

If you are out to save a few dollars, and can negotiate aggressively, try Open Road BMW on Route 1. They are sales slime, but you will get a lower price if you negotiate hard, because they are a high-volume dealer. I am unfamiliar with their repair service.
