large evap leak

this is for a 98 328i the check engine light came on and I used the tool. It says its for a large evap leak. and comes back on after i reset it any one know what this could be???

Is your AC evaporator leaking?

i checked the search feature and for another guy who had same year but differnt series i think 5 series and they told him to try replacing the gas cap. No I checked it with the oil reset tool. You know what I am talking about ?????? Dont think that it is the AC.

Leaving your gas cap off or a faulty cap will cause the check engine light to come on, but I am still not sure what you are talking about?

I got the code checker to have a oil change interval reset tool and thought I'd check my codes. So that is what I did when the check engine light comes on and the code Says its a large evap leak. Now when i looked at similar thread the cheapest thing to start was to replace a gas cap.
