I got the same letter yesterday.. After dealing with all of the sliptronic problems... I am not happy having to take the car back into the shop

If I remember correctly, that climate control is being suspect of causing the batteries to drain, (loose charge).

ive never really had a problem with the car battery, the only problem i've had is an idling issue where at very low speed or at stop, the car would just die, unless this IS related some how. i was thinking of asking them to check it out when i get this climate control thing fixed. is there anything i should ask them specificaly?

Glad to see BMW NA finally notifying people about this problem, which happened to me late last year. If it wasn't for the info I found on this and other Internet sites, I wouldn't have had a clue as to the reason for the dead battery.

Yes, I had this problem. It does seem to be fixed now.

I had my battery drain, they recoded the module for a different reason and it had the good side effect of fixing my battery from draining. BTW they didn't know this and kept my car for 2 days and it never showed any abnormal drain. I found out myself after bringing the car home and reading about it on the boards. Dumb dealer didn't have a clue.
