My 2003 325i came with two silver screws holding the top of the rear plate on and two black screws hold the top of the front plate on.
Being the anal person that I am I went and bought eight silver screws so I could use all four holes on both the front and rear plates. Yes, I like consistency.
I am reasonably sure I bought the right size screws since I took an original into the store and found a nut that was the correct size which told me what size screws to buy.
My new bolts work in the top two holes of the rear plate but not the bottom two holes. On the front plate one of the top holes works while the other top hole doesn't tighten. I can't believe that either the front or rear that came with the car are originals.
Should I just give up and go to the dealer?
Thanks, David
