On US-specification cars, the DRL's are a programmable option that can be turned on/off (since DRLs are not required in the US). If you want the DRL's enabled, you'd have to have the dealer activate them by using their programming tool (at least that is how it works for the '05).

If you have halogens, it will be the high beams.

I have BiZenons and only the "passing" lights are used for DRL's. On a Halogen system, the high beams are the same as my "passing" lamps and are what will be your DRL's.

so the highbeams, how light will it be, when i get the DRL on for my halagon?
The DRLs are somewhat dimmer than the highbeams. When you turn on your lights, the DRL goes out. If you flash without your lights on, the inside lamps go to full highbeam brightness, then back to DRL level. Since the DRL is off with your lights on, the highbeam acts normal in this situation.

I think they come preprogrammed to be on when you first get the car. I had to ask for mine ot be turned off.

Most dealers (unless you bought from them) will charge you like 1/2 hour labor to do stuff. Ask for the list of options first so you can get your car all customized while they're at it. It only takes like 5 minutes of their time. Should be around $50 at most. Try to get it free tho since it's so easy for them to do.
