loaner/rental car covered under warranty?

I was told by the dealership in my area(Fields-Winter Park) that a loaner or rental car is not provided while my car is being worked on. This would not be a problem to me unless they had to have the car overnight. I can hardly beleive this! GM's warranty includes a rental, but BMW does not.

It depends on the dealer and how well you know your service advisor. I've received loaners on simple oil changes. Ultimately its the dealer's desecration whether or not to give you a loaner.

Fields is my dealer as well and this is how it works over there:

If you go in for a routine service call (scheduled maintenance) they will provide you with a BMW loaner provided you make the appointment far enough in advance to where they can schedule one for you. This is usually in the 3 week range. If you can't wait for one in their schedule then you are on your own.

For a warranty covered breakdown that requires them to keep it overnight, they will provide a rental car or one of their BMW loaners if they have one available. If the car does not have to be kept overnight then there is no loaner provided.

That's it!!![thumb]

BTW the loaner service is only valid during warranty coverage period.

That sounds fairly typical. (Except for the loaner service ending after the warranty's up. That kinda sucks.)
