Anyone have a problem with their passenger door latch? Our 2004 330 CI passenger door won't open, except from the inside. The outside latch is useless. Trip to dealer planned for Wednesday...stay tuned [spank]

is the child safety lock turned on?
There is no child safety lock on a 2-door......

I have to pull like all get out on my pass door handle (outside) to open it. I think I will have it adjusted. Add it to the list. Mine still opens with a loud SNAP though.

My wife said she was trapped INSIDE the car one time. The driver's handle moved but would not open the door. She said she crawled across the seats and got out the passenger side and opened the driver door from the outside. It has been fine since....[scratch]

That's funny - she could have just rolled down the window and opened the door using the exterior door handle! [;)]

Hehe...... good point!

I asked her if she tried using the lock button to cycle the locks a few times since the door was acting like it would not unlock...... answer was "NO why should I do THAT?"

Wierd I never heard of that. And never had a problem with the outside door handles, but I know they changed them with the face lift for some reason.

But I once locked a girl in my car with the key (assuming she would be more safe) while i ran into a convenience store. The line turned out to be really long. I get back to the car and she looked frazzled as hell. It turns out she tripped the motion detector and the alarm was going off and she couldn't get out of the car becasue it was in lock down mode. So funny. Not for her though. Everybody was starring at her...she said she felt like a criminal. LOL

I forgot to press the key twice to disable the motion detector.

One thing I love about our 3 series is that it's a physical impossibility to lock your keys in the car.

Well the diagnosis came back that the "cable" broke in the door that actuates the door handle. It takes 2 weeks to get another one. The SA told my wife that an expensive car like this sure uses a cheap cable. Not very confidence inspiring [:(]

My car locked me out one day. I'm outside the car, top is down and I'm holding the keys, but it would not let me in. After a few minutes it released the locks. "Christina anyone!"

Another easy way: Turn off the ignition, remove the keys, open the door, lock with the central locking button, place your keys on the seat as you step out, close the door. [rofl] EDITED: Oops, my bad, this can't be done. Drivers's door lock is inhibited with driver door open. Modified way (passenger needed for this): Turn off the ignition, remove the keys, place keys in console, open the door, get out and close the door, passenger open the door, press central lock, get out, close door.

I think the noodle was talking about with the keys in the ignition....although check this out: With keys in the ignition, rear seats are folded down, pop trunk with remote or remote latch release, lock with central button, crawl out the trunk, close the trunk. [rofl] [rofl] [rofl]

haha, that happened to my friend once. Cept he was in an M Coupe and he's sorta on the large side. He couldn't really get out. He had to drive down to the dealer and have them help him squeeze out somewhere I can't remember anymore.

Wonder what the guys at the dealer said, when he came in asking to be let out of his own car.

well he wasn't too happy cuz apparently the workers were snickering. I'm not that upset at the dealership for that tho, even if it might have been a bit unprofessional. I was cracking up too when I found out. It's funnier if you've actually seen my friend. He's just too big for that car (altho he's slimmed a bit lately), but when he first got it, my first thought was that he looks trapped sitting in there. Then he actually does. Just hilarious.

I think i figured out the whole locking thingy. Try this with someone inside the car. Lock the doors using the remote from outside the car. To get out, the person inside has to press the central lock button, then pull the door handle twice.
