Just spoke with BMWNA. My Black 325xi started her trip across the Atlantic on September 18, which means maybe it'll be in the NJ ports by Sunday or Monday if I'm lucky. But, according to the BMW rep, it could take 2 weeks, "or longer" from there before the car is at my dealer.

Is that possible?? The wait has reached the unbearable stage. Any insights would be appreciated.

Thanks

Your soooo close,

They take the shipping film off, do programmimg, alarm install (if ordered) and my dealer has a

private company do a full wax, which initially worried me since my paint is black, but they did a

very nice job ! no swirls and looked fantastic day of delivery ! I havent had to open my Zaino

stuff yet.

By now you should have filled out a question/answer form for programming ??

All the best !!!!

Yup that does sound about right. I know the wait is unbearable, but just wait until you see her in person. I know I couldn't stop grinning for at least a week.[:D]

I haven't heard from my dealer about programming the car. I know there are some optional settings like daytime driving lights, open the doors at once, etc. I guess that stuff will happen when the car is close to or at the dealership.

Every time a hot 3-Series drives by I grit my teeth.

Serenity now!

Yeah, the wait can get really rough and in all honesty, no car is worth waiting more than like a week for, but you just gotta deal. Hang in there, because the wait won't be worth it in the end, but you will be one happy bastard when you finally do get your car.
But then again, at least you get to choose all your options and your exact colors....if it wasn't a BMW, you would just have to "settle" on what the dealership has available or what they can get.

Congrats!

This will make it a little less painful (or maybe a little more painful!). You can find out exactly when it arrives in port. Go here:

http://www.2wglobal.com/www/WEP/Toolbox/Appl/CargoTracking/index.jsp

and click on Auto. Enter your VIN (get it from the dealer) in the cargo ID field.

It will tell you the shipping history and schedule for your baby.

FWIW mine was 9 days from offloading in NJ to delivery at the dealer.
